The University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest (UVMB), tracing its roots to 1787 as a department of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Pest, is one of the oldest veterinary schools in the world and the only veterinary university in Hungary. Operating on a small scale in a historic campus in the heart of Budapest, UVMB draws 67% of its students from over 50 countries. Its EAEVE-accredited Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degree is automatically recognized across European Union member states, and the university also offers BSc and MSc programs in Biology.
