The University of Sharjah (UOS) is one of the UAE's largest and most respected higher education institutions, founded in 1997 by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah. UOS offers over 120 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across colleges of engineering, medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, science, arts, and Islamic studies. The university operates with Arabic and English as dual languages of instruction and places a strong emphasis on Islamic values and ethical scholarship. UOS ranked 14th in the 2026 QS Arab University Rankings and is one of the UAE's top institutions for medicine and health sciences. With a student body of approximately 15,000, UOS provides a comprehensive research and academic environment.
