The University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM), established in 2000, was the world's first British overseas university campus, created under an agreement between the University of Nottingham and the Malaysian government. Since 2005 it has occupied a purpose-built 125-acre campus in Semenyih, Selangor, deliberately modelled on the parkland character of Nottingham's UK grounds. Every degree awarded is identical to the one earned at the UK campus, following the same quality assurance processes and carrying the same global recognition. UNM teaches across Engineering, Science, Arts and Social Sciences, and its Business School, drawing around 5,000 students from more than 70 countries. Graduates are recruited by employers including EY, Intel, IBM and Maybank.
