The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is the UAE's first and flagship national university, established in 1976 in Al Ain by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. UAEU ranks #229 in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and 5th in the 2026 QS Arab University Rankings, making it one of the top research universities in the Arab world. The university serves over 14,000 students across nine colleges spanning engineering, medicine, sciences, business, law, education, and humanities. UAEU leads UAE efforts in digital transformation of education, hosts several national research centres, and maintains active research partnerships with global institutions.
