The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), established as an autonomous university in 2009, is Singapore's university of applied learning, built around a work-study model rather than traditional lectures. Its Integrated Work Study Programme places substantial industry placements at the core of every degree, and many of its specialised programmes are conferred jointly with renowned overseas partner institutions, including the Culinary Institute of America, DigiPen Institute of Technology and the University of Glasgow. SIT's new main campus opened at Punggol Coast in September 2024, incorporating sustainability-focused design features, alongside satellite campuses across Singapore's polytechnics. Programmes are organised into five clusters — Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Food Technology, Infocomm Technology, Health and Social Sciences, and Design and Specialised Businesses — serving over 10,000 students focused on becoming work-ready professionals from day one.
