Pázmány Péter Catholic University (PPKE), founded in 1635 by Archbishop Péter Pázmány and re-established in 1992, is Hungary's oldest continuously operating university and is governed by the Hungarian Catholic Bishops' Conference. Spanning five faculties -- Theology, Humanities and Social Sciences, Law and Political Sciences, Information Technology and Bionics, and the Postgraduate Institute of Canon Law -- PPKE combines classical Catholic educational tradition with modern research, including in bionics and human-centered technology at its Faculty of Information Technology and Bionics.
