The Ohio State University, founded in 1870 as a land-grant institution under the Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College name (renamed in 1878), is one of the largest public research universities in the United States, ranked #190 in the QS World University Rankings 2026. Its 1,715-acre Columbus campus, supplemented by regional campuses in Lima, Mansfield, Marion, Newark and Wooster, hosts more than 60,000 students, including over 5,000 international students from 100+ countries, across 16 colleges and 3 schools. Ohio State offers more than 200 undergraduate and 100 graduate programs, and is particularly renowned for its Fisher College of Business — historically ranked among the top US programmes for logistics and supply chain management — alongside strong engineering, agricultural sciences, journalism and nursing programmes, all within a major Big Ten athletics and research culture.
