Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) is Hungary's longest continuously operating university, originally founded in 1635 by Cardinal Péter Pázmány. Based in Budapest, ELTE is the country's largest and most prestigious comprehensive research university, with nearly 30,000 students across eight faculties covering science, informatics, law, humanities, social sciences, education, psychology, and special education.
