Durham University, founded by Act of Parliament in 1832, is the third-oldest university in England after Oxford and Cambridge. A Russell Group member, it operates a distinctive collegiate system of 17 colleges that give students a close-knit academic and social community within the historic city of Durham. Durham Business School holds triple accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA), and the university is particularly renowned for law, theology, archaeology and anthropology, alongside strong physics and natural sciences.
