Cairo University

Established in 1908, Cairo University is considered the "mother of universities" in Egypt and one of the most distinguished institutions in the Arab world. Located in Giza, it comprises 26 faculties and institutes across virtually all academic disciplines, enrolling over 220,000 students. The university has produced generations of Egypt's political, scientific, and cultural leaders and is a founding member of the Association of Arab Universities. Cairo University ranks #347 globally (QS 2026), placing it among the top two universities in Egypt.
