Andrássy University Budapest

Budapest, Hungary

Andrássy University Budapest (AUB), founded in 2001 as a multinational joint venture supported by Hungary, Germany, Austria, Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Switzerland, and Trentino-South Tyrol, is the only university outside the German-speaking world that operates entirely in German. A small, highly specialized institution with roughly 250 students and a 1:7 staff-to-student ratio, AUB focuses on European integration, Central European affairs, and the Danube region across political science, law, economics, and diplomacy. It was the first university outside Germany accredited under German rules, and holds the title "University of National Excellence" in Hungary.
